I can feel it beginning to happen already. Can you? ...
As it gets darker earlier and earlier, and the temps begin to cool off a little, I notice that my appetite is already beginning to increase. And I'm beginning to crave comfort food even more than I usually do. :)
Has it begun to happen to you, too?
Well, here is our mission. To load up on as many serotonin-producing foods as we can to minimize our cravings for sweet treats (or crunchy ones; I'm not picky!) so we don't gain weight during comfort food season.
For me, I am saying "much" weight because in my entire adulthood, I can only remember two winter seasons when I didn't gain weight. During the best of those seasons, I only gained five pounds & then lost it in the spring. To be honest, that's what I am hoping for this time. What's your goal?
I've spent most of this year losing weight & I reached my goal. But during that time, I have sometimes gained a few pounds back. Sometimes more than a few. Though I didn't ever enjoy seeing the number go up, it gave me confidence that I can lose weight, so I stopped worrying quite as much.
Winter is a whole other ballgame, though! So I am going to try to start some new comfort habits this year to keep me from only having comfort food as a resource. Want to join me?
I'll be blogging about it starting in November, and will share everything that seems to be working.
Let me know how it goes for you, too, okay?
