"Hygge is the light in the darkness,
which carries us through six cold winter months,
and it has done so for more than a thousand years."
~ Marie Tourell Soderberg
Do you sometimes dread winter?
Because it changes your life every year in ways you don't want but can't avoid?
I am a homeschooling mom & I created this website & blog for other moms who still struggle with winter and all that it brings. And if you are also a homebody bookworms who loves tea, hot chocolate, comfort food, Hallmark movies & other delights, like me, you've come to the right place. :)
Hygge is a perfect match for women like us because it invites us to use all the things we love to help us hang on to who we are & how we want to feel during winter.
If all of this resonates with you, then I'm glad you're here.
Do you sometimes just hanging on for spring because it's hard to believe anything can make winter better? I did that for so many years, because nothing I had tried seemed to work the way I thought it would.
So I gave up for a while. But finally, it dawned on me that even if I couldn't "fix" winter completely, or make it perfect, I could still try to make it better & see how far that got me. And that turned out to be a life-changing shift in my perspective.
So this winter, & every winter, let's fight back! We can learn a lot from what they do in Denmark. If they are the happiest people in the world, in spite of the winters they have, then we can learn from them when winter comes.
Thanks for stopping by!
